Mounting
The most popular K4 Wilson pickup is mounted directly in the bridge only 9 mm below the strings, where they pick up a fine balance between the strings and the signal from the body.
K1: Mount the K1 pickup into the E leg side of the bridge. Hole position is optional and the K1 provides almost the same benefits, close to the sound of the K4 Wilson pickup.
K2 and K3: Hole position is optional but several tests have proven, that mounting positions 14 mm below the strings is recommended.
K5 and K6: Holes might be drilled 9 mm below the strings just like the K4.
Each Wilson pickup is delivered with detailed and easy-to-follow mounting instructions. It is, however, recommended that a skilled violin maker mount the pickup.
A drill and a reamer (to make the hole precise in diameter) is included to prepare the holes in the bridge precisely for the pickups. A bench-drillingmachine is recommended, to drill the holes in the bridge and to obtain maximum precision. The pickups might otherwise sit loose in the holes and therefore not having prober contact to provide an optimal amplification.
The connection Jack is fastened behind the tail piece with a special mounting bracket, which is included with the each pickup set.
